The Sun came out
Up early to avoid baking in my tent I hastily packed a bag and headed down to catch an open boat to one of the cluster of 55 rocks jutting out from the Atlantic Ocean.
Deciding on the Isle of Tresco I was immediately struck by the sheer beauty and quality of light so reduced my pace to take in as much as possible
The water beckoned so I stowed my kit into a dry bag and headed off for an afternoon paddle.
Hugging the coastline I watched fish darting around in the crystal clear water and strands of seaweed pointing out the current, then having lost track of time for several hours, landed on an idyllic beach to rest.
now hungry but with boring food rations in my rucksack I ventured inland to pick a few wild and not so native edibles before heading back to the beach to cook up my unique combination of ingredients…
Sea Beet
Nettle Tips
Nasturtium Flowers
Rose Petals
Fennel
Wild Onion Buds
Bland Packet Couscous Mix
The mid day sun was unexpectedly hot so after a light lunch the raft transformed into a makeshift sun shade and unfolding a handy solar panel I plugged in my phone then dozed in the shade while the phone and I both recharged.
a while later my battery was back to 100% and so was the phone.
Ironically there was absolutely zero signal but as anyone who messes around outdoors knows…
sometimes you need to head into nature to experience a better connection!
