I recently had a few hours to kill in East Devon and soon found myself on a quiet pebbled beach.
The walk took me down one of those slopes that you know you’ll feel on the way back up, and I did.
The last bit was particularly wiggly but also very pretty as it dropped down onto the beach

While beach combing I checked everything out and wondered what I could put to practical use if I were a castaway!
These plants are both edible, Sea Kale and the pesky Japanese Knotweed. Being so invasive, knotweed can grow from small trimmings so be careful not to spread it even further. Sea Kale is predictably cabbagy but by the time the leaves get this big they’re too bitter to enjoy.
